The course

  • Real-time video and voice instructions to paint 8 Australian animals: Koala, Platypus, Kookaburra, Kangaroo, Quokka, Wombat, Tasmanian devil and Frilled neck lizard. Average length is 40min
  • Reference photos for each project
  • Sketch outline for each project
  • Class is not geared towards complete beginners, but feel free to return to it at any time - lifetime access
  • You can also add on the crash-course Watercolour from SCRATCH at a discounted rate if you want to learn the basics, which will also be donated

Supplies

  • Watercolours in the 3 primary colours of yellow, red (more of a magenta) and blue. I use the Paint Wild primary palette, but also recommend Winsor and Newton professional series in Winsor Lemon, Permanent Rose and Winsor Blue (Red Shade)
  • White gouache for detail. I use Winsor and Newton designer gouache. Dr Ph Martin's bleedproof white is another option
  • Round watercolour brushes in a small detail and a medium size (something like a 0 and an 8, and anything in between. It will depend how big you decide to paint) I use Paint Wild and Princeton Heritage brushes in size 3/0 for detail and a combo of 4, 6, 8 and 10 for everything else (you don't need all of these)
  • Coldpress watercolour paper. I use Arches coldpress 90lb - you might want something heavier though, mine buckled a little
  • Water jars
  • Paper towel
  • Painter's tape
  • Pencil and eraser
  • I also use an embossing heat gun to dry my layers faster, and a light box to trace the sketch
